benefits of Invisalign
Patients from across Cardiff and South Wales choose Dental Lounge for Invisalign because we offer:
- Invisalign aligners are practically invisible, so most people won’t realise that you are having your teeth straightened
- You can remove your Invisalign braces to eat, drink and brush your teeth which makes them a more hygienic way to straighten teeth. You can also take them out for extra special occasions
- Invisalign straightens teeth quickly with most patients completing their treatment between 6 and 12 months
- Invisalign can be used to treat different orthodontic problems from mild through to severe including crooked, overcrowded and gappy teeth
- With Invisalign you won’t need regular orthodontic appointments to have your braces adjusted. Instead, we provide several aligners upfront, and see you occasionally to ensure that your Invisalign treatment is on track
- Invisalign aligners are made of transparent plastic which makes them comfortable to wear and won’t irritate your mouth and gums

How Invisalign Works at Dental Lounge Llandaff
At Dental Lounge, we use the latest digital technology to create a clear and comfortable path to straighter teeth. Here’s what you can expect from your Invisalign journey with us:

CONSULTATION
Your Invisalign journey begins with a consultation. We’ll discuss what you’d like to improve about your smile and carry out a full assessment of your teeth, gums, and bite. Using our 3D iTero scanner, we’ll take digital impressions of your teeth – no messy moulds required.

ClinCheck Preview
Your 3D scan is used to create a digital simulation of your treatment – called ClinCheck. This advanced technology shows how your teeth will move at each stage and gives you a preview of your final smile before treatment even begins.

Bespoke Treatment Plan
Once you’re ready to go ahead, your personalised treatment plan is created using the 3D scan. This is used to produce a series of custom-made, clear aligners, designed to gradually move your teeth into the desired position.

Starting Treatment
When your aligners are ready, we’ll invite you back to the practice to show you how to fit, remove, and care for them. You’ll be given several sets of aligners to take home, changing to the next set every 1–2 weeks as directed.
To get the best results, you’ll need to wear your aligners for at least 20–22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

FAQs about Invisalign
Why do I need to remove my braces before eating and drinking?
We recommend only drinking cold water with your aligners in and taking them out for anything else that you consume.
You need to remove your Invisalign aligners before eating because you could chew straight through the plastic. If you drink anything other than cold water with your aligners, you will risk staining them which will make them look unattractive. It may seem like a pain to begin with, but you will soon get into a routine of removing your aligners quickly and discreetly before eating and drinking.
